Basement Beacon Development Update: Hardware Design Nearly Finalized

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share a quick update on the progress of Basement Beacon.

The good news is that we've mostly settled on a hardware design that is both reliable and cost-effective. Over the past several months, I've made a number of hardware changes to ensure that all major components can be sourced through our hardware vendor. This helps keep manufacturing costs as low as possible and makes it much easier to scale production.

The latest hardware revision is currently being manufactured and should be ready in the next couple of weeks. Once those boards arrive, the next steps are:

• Send production samples to our assembler here in the U.S., to get a more accurate estimate of assembly costs for each kit, which includes the main sensor unit, power monitor, and floor wetness monitor.

• Finalize our per-unit manufacturing costs so we can confidently determine pricing.

• Begin reaching out to beta testers and sending out units for real-world testing and feedback.

After those steps are complete, the plan is to launch Basement Beacon on Kickstarter. If everything stays on schedule, I'm hopeful that we'll be ready to launch within about a month.

Thank you for your continued support, feedback, and encouragement. It's been exciting to see so much interest from homeowners who want a better way to monitor their basements and sump pump systems.
